Acupressure |
|
Based on the same principles as acupuncture -
you can imagine that this pre-dates acupuncture; after all
fingers, thumbs and knuckles were available long before finely
machined needles. This therapy involves applying pressure to the
same points on the body stimulated by acupuncture.
|
|
By
applying pressure to the relevant point on the body, acupressure
provides treatment for the whole body and treats the root cause of
the problem. If the root cause of the problem is cured the
symptomatic problem are also treated as well.
|
|
|
|
An example of this is a person suffering from
asthma. One avenue would be a medicine or steroid that would give
rest to the lungs and relieve the symptoms on the understanding
that the lungs are weak or malfunctioning. Another is to
read the whole body by reading energy pulses in an endeavour to
ascertain the root
cause and then work on the points to address this/these. A root cause could be anything like poor digestion,
excessive heat or bad circulation and may not necessarily be weak
lungs.
